Add, move, or import contacts

Yous can save names, email addresses, phone numbers, and more in Google Contacts.

Contacts saved to your Google Account will sync with Google Contacts and all your Android devices.

Add a contact

  1. On your figurer, go to Google Contacts.
  2. At the top left, click Create contact.
  3. Click Create contact or Create multiple contacts.
  4. Enter the contact's data.
  5. Click Save.

Import contacts

From a file

  1. On your computer, go to Google Contacts.
  2. At the left, clickImport.
  3. ClickSelect File.
  4. Choose your file.
  5. Click Import.

From a Gmail account

Step one: Export existing Gmail contacts

  1. On your figurer, go to Google Contacts
  2. At the left, click Export.
  3. Select which contacts to consign.
  4. Select Google CSV.
  5. Click Consign.
  6. At the peak right, click your profile flick and thenSign out.

Step two: Import the file

  1. On your calculator, go to Google Contacts, so sign in with your other Gmail account.
  2. At the left, click Import.
  3. ClickSelect File.
  4. Choose your file.
  5. Click Import.

Can't import my contacts

You tin have problems when:

  • You import more 3,000 contacts at a time. If you lot have more than 3,000 contacts, split them into multiple CSVs before you import them.
  • You reach the limit of 25,000 contacts. Learn about contact size limits.
  • The contacts aren't formatted to work with Google Contacts. Make certain your contacts are saved as a vCard or CSV file.

Tip:If you create a CSV, make sure it has the right headers. Download a template hither.

Control who'due south automatically saved to your contacts

If y'all email someone but you haven't added them equally a contact, Google Contacts automatically saves their email address in your "Other contacts" group. Their email address will show up the next time yous email them.
